To all our loyal GGW participants and volunteers Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to cancel the Spring 2020 Good Grief Workshop for Children and Teens scheduled for April 25, 2020. Like all of you, we are watching events unfold, and will make announcements about future Workshops as soon as we can. In the meantime, may all of us, our loved ones, families and friends, stay well in these trying times. GOOD GRIEF WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS
Sponsored by Mount Royal Commemorative Services, Natalie Segall and Jillian Lucht are honoured to coordinate theGood Grief Workshops for Children and Teens. This biannual, free workshop is for children and adolescents 5 – 19 years old who have experienced the death of someone close to them.
Age-specific groups led by a team of trained volunteers will provide a group format to help children understand and express their grief. The workshop will involve structured activities that are designed to give children the opportunity to share their feelings with other grieving children, learn from each other, and honour the memory of the person who died.
On the same day, we also offer a concurrent Parent Discussion Group to give parents/guardians the opportunity to discuss the topic of children’s grief.
The most recent Good Grief Workshop for Children and Teens was held held at Selwyn House School on Saturday, November 15, 2019, and we had an awesome day! As always, to our wonderful volunteers: Heartfelt thanks go out to each and every one of you for the great work you do at the Good Grief Workshops.
