Everyone needs something to connect to, and for me, it's Good Grief Central.
I was adopted into an Italian/Jewish family when I was 22 months old from Russia. I graduated in Social Services and Human Relations, but no experience could prepare me for the loss of a loved one. I lost my father due to life-long health issues when I was 14 years old, and it was a very difficult loss. I found ways to cope that worked for me, but it took time. Fast forward to twelve years later, and I lost both of my grandmothers in the same summer. Over time, I learned that a huge part of coping is patience and opportunity. It was imperative for me to understand that you cannot rush the healing process, and that there are always opportunities and resources available. With my experiences - both personally and with Good Grief Central - I felt inspired to be a part of this amazing story. I have joined this team to help others understand that they're not alone and that there is a light at the end of each tunnel.
